NamRA Hosts Integrated Annual Report Training

NamRA Training

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) today commenced a one-day Integrated Annual Report Training aimed at improving the Agency’s capacity to produce high quality, transparent and fully compliant reports.

The session, facilitated by integrated reporting specialist Paul Kirsten, focused on best practices drawn from the International Integrated Reporting Framework. It covered key areas such as value creation, stakeholder engagement, materiality, business models, governance, performance and sustainability reporting. Participants explored how integrated thinking can connect strategy, governance and performance to deliver clear and meaningful reports for stakeholders.

In his opening address, Commissioner Sam SHIVUTE highlighted the role of annual reports in demonstrating accountability, building public trust and providing a clear picture of NamRA’s performance and value creation. He emphasised the importance of equipping staff with the skills to prepare reports that meet both compliance requirements and quality standards.

The training also included a gap analysis of NamRA’s 2023/4 Annual Report. The review assessed areas of compliance, highlighted strengths and identified opportunities to align future reports more closely with global standards and stakeholder expectations.

According to Kirsten, effective integrated reporting should not merely summarise financial statements and operations but present a connected narrative that links operational performance to long term value creation.

To date, NamRA has submitted all its annual report since its inception and will continue building on its reporting capabilities to ensure future reports are not only compliant but also insightful, relevant and reflective of the Agency’s role in Namibia’s economic development.
