NamRA Accredits Three More Traders Under AEO Programme

New AEO traders

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) today granted Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status to three additional traders, being African Packaging (Pty) Ltd, Swakop Uranium (Pty) Ltd and Wisteria Investments Three (Pty) Ltd.

The accreditation falls under the AEO-Compliance Programme Level 1, in accordance with the Customs and Excise Act, 1998 (Act No. 20 of 1998). This brings the total number of AEO accredited operators in Namibia to five.

Robiati Distribution CC, which was accredited earlier this year, also took part in the ceremony to receive their official certificate.

Speaking at the event, NamRA Commissioner Sam SHIVUTE highlighted the importance of the AEO programme in supporting trade facilitation and strengthening cooperation between customs and the private sector. He noted that the programme enhances trust, transparency and efficiency in the trading environment.

The AEO programme is a global initiative that recognises businesses with a strong track record of customs compliance, sound internal controls and secure supply chain practices. Accredited operators benefit from simplified customs procedures, including expedited clearance of goods, reduced inspections and access to a dedicated client relationship manager.

NamRA continues to promote the AEO programme as part of its broader drive to modernise customs administration and align with international standards, including the World Customs Organization (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards.
